Social Listening Report
Understand the shape of the social conversation about your brand: who is driving it, where it lives, and what audiences are doing that news coverage alone never shows. The Social Listening Report turns your social coverage into a clear, cited read in minutes.
What it does
News analysis tells you what was published. Social listening tells you what people did with it. This template analyses the social-platform coverage of your brand or topic and reads its shape across every platform that matters, because social has its own grammar: per-platform engagement patterns, hashtag dynamics, account-level voice, comment chains, and a faster cycle than mainstream media.
It keeps each platform separate rather than blending everything into one number, so a quiet but highly engaged community on one platform is never hidden behind raw volume on another. The result is an honest picture of how your audience is actually responding.
The questions it answers
- Which platform is driving the conversation about us, and which one carries the most engaged audience?
- Who are the accounts shaping the discussion on each platform, and are they broadcast amplifiers or smaller high-engagement community voices?
- What are the dominant hashtags and narratives, and how do they differ from platform to platform?
- Which posts went viral, and what changed compared with the previous period?
- Is sentiment in the comments diverging from the sentiment of the posts themselves?
What's in the report
The report opens with a short social picture at a glance, then moves through the detail. Every period is benchmarked against the equivalent stretch immediately before it, and every finding is traceable back to the source coverage it came from.
- A per-platform scoreboard covering volume, change, audience, engagement, sentiment and intensity, with platforms that have no presence marked as absent rather than dropped.
- A cross-platform volume chart comparing the current and previous periods side by side.
- Voice and account analysis for each platform, listing the top accounts and distinguishing large-following amplifiers from community voices.
- Hashtag tables and narrative themes per platform, surfacing the organising frames audiences are using.
- A sentiment-by-platform read, recognising that one platform tends to be more polarised, another more professionally framed, another more critical.
- Viral content identification, account growth and decay, comment-layer sentiment where available, and emoji and language signals that often read audience mood most honestly.
- For financial brands, a cashtag and ticker view covering investing communities.
- An editorial verdict pulling the threads together into what is worth tracking forward.
Who it's for
Communications and social teams who need to know what is happening across platforms without spending a day pulling it together. PR and brand leads briefing executives on reputation. Public-affairs and investor-relations professionals who need the social read alongside the news read, and a defensible summary they can put in front of the board.
Why Truescope Analyst
Getting this picture the traditional way means logging into several platform dashboards, exporting numbers that do not line up, and stitching them into a deck by hand. Each platform measures engagement differently, so the comparison is rough before you start, and by the time it is finished the conversation has moved on. A general AI chatbot cannot help here either: it has no access to your social coverage and will summarise whatever single post you paste in, with nothing cited.
Truescope Analyst reasons across the full body of social coverage already in your workspace, keeps each platform on its own terms, and benchmarks every number against the prior period. The work that took an afternoon takes minutes, every figure is cited back to the source content, and the report is built into your subscription so anyone on the team can run it.
Frequently asked questions
How far back can the analysis look?
It can cover up to the last 13 months for coverage already in your Truescope inbox, or the last 90 days for global social data not yet matched to your workspace. The reporting interval adjusts to the range you choose, from hourly for short windows up to monthly for longer ones.
Can I focus on specific platforms?
Yes. You can run it across all platforms with material volume, or narrow it to any subset such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit or forums. Platforms with little or no presence are shown as absent so the picture stays honest.
Does it analyse comments, not just posts?
Where comment-level content has been ingested for a platform, the report compares comment sentiment against post sentiment and flags any divergence. Comment access depends on each platform's rules, so some platforms are noted as not available. For real-time discovery beyond your workspace data, the Live Social Search template is the better fit.
