Reputation Trend Analysis

Reputation Trend Analysis

Track reputation trajectory over extended period

A long-window view of your brand's reputation that does more than report the numbers. It names the phase you are in, pinpoints when it began, and reads where you are heading.

What it does

This is a trajectory analysis built for the long horizon. The question is not where your brand sits today but what reputation regime it is in, when that regime started, and what the historical shape says about the present. Truescope Analyst works across six to thirteen months of coverage, identifies the distinct phases your brand has moved through, marks the inflection points where one phase tipped into the next, and explains what drove each turn. It is designed for the strategic, board-level view of reputation, not the weekly pulse.

The questions it answers

- What reputation phase is our brand in now, and how long have we been in it?
- When did our current trajectory actually begin, and what triggered the shift?
- Is the sentiment we are seeing now normal for us, or genuinely out of range?
- Which themes have entrenched, which have faded, and which are newly emerging?
- Are we graduating into premium coverage over time, or sliding into the long tail?

What's in the report

The report opens with a trajectory at a glance: a table showing where each key metric started, where it ended, its window average, and a clear direction of travel. It then moves into the strategic read.

You get:

- Regime identification: the distinct reputation phases your brand has occupied across the window, each named in plain language with its volume, sentiment and source mix, plus an explicit statement of the current regime and how long it has lasted.
- A long-window trajectory chart combining monthly volume and net sentiment, with regime transitions marked.
- Inflection points: the weeks where sentiment turned most sharply, each explained against the coverage and themes that drove the turn.
- A sentiment baseline that makes your normal range explicit, so the latest month can be read as normal, notable or significantly out of range rather than in isolation.
- Theme entrenchment and decay: parallel views of what the brand is durably known for, what is newly emerging, and what has dropped away.
- Source quality drift: whether your coverage is climbing into premium outlets or sliding into low-authority sources over time.
- A crisis decay analysis where the window contains a discrete negative event, tracking volume recovery, sentiment recovery and whether the narrative residue has cleared.
- A directional read: a closing assessment of the current phase, the likely shape of the next stretch, and the single signal that would change that view.

Every inflection and regime narrative is grounded in actual stories from the relevant weeks, cited back to the source coverage. If you supply known events, such as a leadership change or a product launch, they are annotated against the timeline.

Who it's for

This serves communications and corporate affairs leaders who own reputation at a strategic level, investor-relations teams tracking how the market story has evolved, and anyone preparing a long-horizon reputation review for executives, ministers or the board. It is the template for the annual or half-yearly reputation conversation, not the daily monitor.

Why Truescope Analyst

A reputation review like this is normally a consulting project: weeks of an agency reading back through a year of coverage, drawing the timeline by hand, and arriving at a narrative that is necessarily subjective and impossible for you to reproduce next quarter. A general AI tool is worse suited still, because it has no memory of your coverage across a year, no consistent way to measure sentiment over time, and no ability to cite when it claims a phase began. Truescope Analyst reasons across your full long-window dataset, identifies regimes and inflections on consistent rules, sets your normal range from your own history, and grounds every turning point in cited stories. What was a multi-week engagement becomes a repeatable analysis you can run in minutes, included in your subscription and available to anyone who needs it.

Frequently asked questions

How long a window does this cover?
The template is built for long horizons of six, nine or thirteen months. It can analyse up to the last 13 months for coverage already in your Truescope inbox; the longer the window, the richer the trajectory read, though the structure is the same across all three. Shorter horizons are better served by a monthly or quarterly template.

How does it decide my sentiment is normal or unusual?
It establishes your brand's own normal range from the spread of your monthly sentiment across the window, then measures how far the latest month sits from that average. The same net score can be alarming for a brand that usually runs positive and unremarkable for one that usually runs negative, so the reading is always relative to your own history rather than an absolute scale.

What if there was no crisis in the window?
Then the crisis decay section simply states that no discrete negative event shaped the trajectory during the period. The template does not invent a crisis to fill the section; it reports what the data shows.
