It tracks across up to the last 13 months for coverage in your Truescope inbox, or the last 90 days for global data not yet matched to your workspace. For shorter windows it works at daily resolution and for longer ones at weekly, so the phases stay legible whatever the span.
How does it decide where the phases begin and end?
Phase boundaries are drawn from the data, from the shifts in volume, sentiment and intensity across the window. If you already know a turning point, such as the day a regulator weighed in, you can supply it and the analysis will work around that boundary rather than inferring it.
Does the arc reflect the events or the coverage?
It shows media coverage of the story, not the underlying events. Things that happened but generated no coverage are invisible to it, so the arc is a map of how the story was told, not a record of everything that occurred.
